Seismicity Hearing

In the week beginning 17 October 2011 the Commission conducted a public hearing in which we  considered evidence and submissions on:

  • New Zealand's geological setting;
  • the seismological model for New Zealand, and in particular for Canterbury; and
  • the nature and severity of the Canterbury earthquakes.
