Roles and Responsiblities Hearing
On 11 and 12 September 2012 the Royal Commission conducted a public hearing to examine the key issues faced by central and local government, the building and construction industry and other elements of the private sector, when developing and enforcing legal and best practice requirements for buildings in earthquake events.
The hearing included two separate panel discussions which included representatives from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, the Standards Council, the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand and the New Zealand Construction Industry Council.
