Summary
This submission provides information and views on the training and education of engineers in New Zealand as well as the requirements of the Chartered Professional Engineers New Zealand Act 2002 for the demonstration of competency for registration as a Chartered Professional Engineer and the complaints and disciplinary procedures that are applicable to the profession.
This submission also discusses the systems and processes for managing buildings damaged in the Canterbury earthquakes, including the development and maintenance of New Zealand's building safety evaluation process and/or problems that arose with how the building safety evaluation operation was implemented during and after the state of emergency.
