Construction manager confirmed witness at CTV hearing

In his opening statement to the CTV hearing on Monday 25 June 2012, counsel assisting the Commission Mr Stephen Mills QC said that efforts had been made to obtain evidence from Mr Gerald Shirtcliff, former construction manager at Williams Construction Ltd, the company which built the CTV building. However Mr Mills noted Mr Shirtcliff was not yet confirmed as a witness.

The Commission has been in further discussion with Mr Shirtcliff and wishes to advise that he has provided a signed statement of evidence and agreed to appear as a witness at the CTV hearing (via video link).

Evidence about the construction of the CTV building is scheduled to be heard in the week of 30 July 2012.  The Commission will also hear from three other former members of Williams Construction. They are the managing director Mr Michael Brooks, the quantity surveyor Mr Tony Scott and the foreman Mr Bill Jones.
